Riyan M Shah is a writer and an avid bibliophile. Born in July 2015, lives in Vadodara. Riyan started reading at age 3 and has read more than 1000 books in present. Following his debut book Protofolio Pen & Cyber Attack, he has written two more books. Now from the same pen that weaved Ribo and The Subway Trouble, Riyan is presenting his 4th book, which revolves around three important lessons: generosity, companionship and patience. This marks the fourth point in Riyan’s creative journey and readers can expect more engaging tales from his imaginative universe.

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: A recent family trip to Switzerland inspired me to write this book.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: Ribo Reesam, an 11 yr old boy, travels with his siblings to the Mecca of Chocolate in desire to learn the true secret behind real chocolate. What they return home with are not just tips for the upcoming funfair, but life lessons that stick with them forever

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: The title refers to the unexpected twists and turns they face in Switzerland.

Q: Was The Character Inspired By A Real Person?

A: No, Ribo’s characteristics are not based on a real person. The protagonist’s name was inspired from a cycling equipment brand, which I noticed on a bike ride.

Q: Do You Have Any Suggestions To Help Others To Become A Better Writer? If So, What Are They?

A: The most important suggestion for writers is not to boost your book in terms of length. To avoid risk of a boring book, it is advised to let the story decide the page count itself. This will make it feel natural.

Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A: Writing dialogues. It is hard to imagine how casually the lines need to be spoken, and which character is supposed to.

Q: ell Us About Your First Published Book? What Was The Journey Like?

A: The first book was a childish story about a group of mice building an eco friendly car. The journey, however tiring paid off on 27 Nov 2023 when my debut book was published. I was overjoyed and my family expressed immense pride.

Q: How Do Your Book Get Published?

A: I work with a group of proper publishers, editors, designers, illustrators who leave no stone unturned in ensuring my book meets the reading world.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?

A: The greatest ideas come from ‘what if?” questions who spark amazing ideas, each for a new plot.
