Urfan, Beinash and Faisal fled to Pakistan and their father negotiated with police there to ensure the trio were charged in the UK.
The father, stepmother and uncle of 10-year-old Sara Sharif were charged with murder after police found the minor’s body at their residence in Surrey last August. Sara’s father, Urfan Sharif, 41, her stepmother, Beinash Batool, 29, and her uncle, Faisal Malik, 28, were arrested on return from Pakistan.
The trio flew to Pakistan with five children in August. Sara is the daughter of Urfan Sharif and Olga Sharif, a Pole.
The Guardian said that the trio left Pakistan on Wednesday morning after negotiations with the police and British authorities. Olga Sharif, Sara’s mother, was informed of the latest developments and is being assisted by specialist officers.
Urfan, Beinash and Faisal also disappeared after their arrival in Pakistan. Police initially assumed that Urfan Sharif’s five children, aged between one and 13, were with him but on Monday it emerged that they were staying with their grandfather Muhammad Sharif at his home in Jhelum after a police raid.
These five children are now under government care in Pakistan.
The Guardian in its report also said that the grandfather negotiated with local politicians and police for the fugitives to be handed over to UK authorities as they were scared of mistreatment at the hands of Pakistan police.
Urfan, according to the reports by UK-based media outlets, called the emergency services in UK that Sara Sharif was dead at the house in Horsell, an area near Woking. When he called he did not identify himself as Sara’s father.
After the police discovered her body, they began an international police search. The post mortem report revealed that the child sustained “multiple and extensive injuries” over a “sustained and extended” period.
Urfan, Beinash and Faisal were charged with causing or allowing the death of a child and will appear at Guildford magistrates court on Friday, the Guardian said.
These three fled to Pakistan a day before police discovered Sara’s body in Horsell on August 10.
When they reached Gatwick airport on Wednesday evening after disembarking from a flight from Dubai, they were arrested.
