Iran-US-Israel War Ceasefire News Today LIVE Updates: Following the Islamabad deadlock, the United States began enforcing a naval blockade on Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.

“We can’t let a country blackmail or extort the world, because that’s what they’re doing,” President Donald Trump said after the blockade took effect. Further, Trump has warned that any Iranian attack boats that approach the American naval blockade around Iran’s ports would be destroyed, despite international calls for a ceasefire to be respected and negotiations to resume.

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held a telephonic conversation with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on Monday to discuss the escalating situation in West Asia. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that during the call, Lavrov told Araghchi that preventing any renewed hostilities in West Asia was crucial, adding that Russia was prepared to assist in reaching a settlement.

Furthermore, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem urged the Lebanese government to cancel planned talks with Israel in Washington, reiterating the group’s rejection of direct negotiations with its Tel Aviv.

“We reject negotiations with the usurping Israeli entity… We call for a historic and heroic stance by cancelling this negotiating meeting,” Qassem, whose Iran-backed group has been at war with Israel since March 2, said in a televised address, news agency AFP reported.
