Varun Dhawan To Start Shooting For Dad David Dhawan’s Next Romantic Comedy From July 12: Report – News18

Varun Dhawan is currently juggling between the shoot of Baby John and Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. He constantly shares updates too. Well, amid this there was a report that he will soon be seen in a romantic comedy directed by his father David Dhawan. And now in a fresh update, the shooting will begin on July 12 in Mumbai. However, an official announcement has not been made till now.

According to a report in Mid-day, the filming is set to commence on July 12 at Mehboob Studios in Bandra. As per the report, sources reveal that elaborate sets have been constructed for the initial indoor shoots, which are likely to focus on Varun Dhawan’s character.  This initial phase will take place during the monsoon season, after which the production will shift to other locations.

Earlier, Pinkvilla has reported a source saying, “Much like all David Dhawan comedies, this one is also a love triangle where the humour is a result of confusion in leading man’s life. The team has roped in Sreeleela to play Varun’s love interest in the film. It’s a pakka-commercial entertainer and Sreeleela also feels that this would be the perfect launch pad for her in Hindi markets.”

Reportedly, Mrunal Thakur is also part of the film. PinkVilla reported that the Sita Ramam actress has already gone through two meetings with the director in lieu of the project, “This is the first time that Varun and Mrunal are collaborating for a film, and everyone attached to the project is extremely excited about this fresh pairing. Mrunal and David sir have had a couple of meetings as well, and the film is expected to roll in May or June of this year. The preparation is underway, and the second female lead will be signed very soon,” the source revealed.

On the work front, Varun Dhawan will also be seen in Citadel with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Directed by Raj and DK, Citadel is the Indian adaptation of the International series of the same name which was created by the director duo, the Russo Brothers. According to strong reports, the actress is performing high-octane action sequences in the film along with Varun Dhawan.

In John Baby, Varun will be seen with Keerthy Suresh. The electrifying star cast also includes Jacky Shroff and Rajpal Yadav in the action entertainer. Baby John is an S. Thaman musical. Besides Atlee, the film is produced by Murad Khetani, Priya Atlee, and Jyoti Deshpande. The project is also presented by Jio Studios in association with A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios.
