TMC ready to fight all Lok Sabha seats, Didi signals to Congress | – Times of India

KOLKATA: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee told party leaders Friday that her TMC was a key member of the INDIA bloc but was ready to fight all 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal alone if fellow constituent Congress favoured others. The comments were seen as a signal that she was fast running out of patience with Congress.

Be prepared to contest all three Murshidabad LS seats, she told the leaders. “The indication is the leadership is unwilling to wait beyond a point,” a TMC leader said.

TMC has offered Congress two seats in the state, Behrampore (Murshidabad) and Malda South, which Congress won in 2019. Congress is yet to spell out its position but party leaders have indicated they want more seats.
