NEW DELHI: Chris Gayle was present at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made history by defeating Chennai Super Kings by 27 runs in a thrilling match on Saturday.
With this win, RCB secured their spot in the IPL playoffs, becoming the first team to qualify after winning just one of their first seven games of the season.
RCB are the fourth team to book their place in the IPL 2024 Playoffs, joining Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Following the win, former RCB star batter and “Universe Boss” Chris Gayle posted a photo with Virat Kohli on his social media account.
“Long Live The King! Nothing but respect and love Virat Kohli,” Gayle wrote.

RCB fans have seen Gayle break and rewrite records at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. It was here that Gayle scored an unbeaten 175 off just 66 deliveries against Pune Warriors in IPL 2013.
More than a decade later, Gayle’s blitz remains the highest score in the T20 format. His record-breaking knock included 13 boundaries and 17 towering sixes.
He still holds the record for the most sixes in an innings by a batter in the history of the league.
