A 28-year-old woman from Vadodara who faced severe mental and physical abuse by her husband for refusing his repeated demands for sex was rescued by Gujarat govt women helpline, Abhayam.
Her husband locked her in a room and separated her from their infant daughter. According to Abhayam officials, the couple got married five years ago, but tensions emerged after only a couple of months and she moved back with her parents last year.
However, upon discovering she was pregnant, her family mediated a reconciliation, and she then returned to live with her husband. Two days ago, the situation worsened and she contacted her brother, who called Abhayam for help.
