NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Dr. Navin Ramgoolam in a telephonic exchange following his re-election as Prime Minister of Mauritius.
Taking to X, PM Modi expressed his best wishes for Ramgoolam’s success in leading Mauritius and invited him to visit India.
“Had a warm conversation with my friend Dr. Navin Ramgoolam, congratulating him on his historic electoral victory,” PM Modi said.

“I wished him great success in leading Mauritius and extended an invitation to visit India. I look forward to working closely together to strengthen our special and unique partnership,” he added.
Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth conceded in the hotly disputed legislative winner-takes-all elections, paving the way for the opposition to take power.
Final results have yet to be officially released, but opposition leader Navin Ramgoolam appeared set to take over as prime minister for the third time, heading the Alliance of Change coalition.
