Watch: BSF foils infiltration bid by terrorists along Pakistan border | India News – The Times of India

NEW DELHI: Heightened tensions between India and Pakistan saw a major infiltration attempt by Islamabad, which was thwarted by the Border Security Force (BSF) along the International Border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. “At around 23.00 hours on 8 May 2025, BSF foiled a major infiltration bid at the International Boundary in Samba district, J&K,” the BSF said in a post on X early Friday. Officials told PTI that it was not immediately clear whether any terrorists were injured or killed in the exchange of fire. A thorough search was scheduled for the morning to ascertain further details.The Indian Army on Friday said that Pakistan’s armed forces carried out multiple drone and munition attacks along the entire western border. These strikes were “effectively repulsed,” said the Army. In addition, Pakistani troops engaged in “numerous ceasefire violations” along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said in an early morning post on X, which also featured a short video clip and a firm message of retaliation.OPERATION SINDOOR – Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along entire Western Border on the intervening night of 08 and 09 May 2025. Pak troops also resorted to numerous ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir,” the post said. The Army further confirmed that the drone attacks were “effectively repulsed” and that a “befitting reply” had been delivered in response to the violations. “#IndianArmy remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Nation. All nefarious designs will be responded with force,” it added. In the large-scale counter-drone response, Army Air Defence units deployed an array of advanced weaponry including L-70 guns, Zu-23mm systems, Schilka systems, and specialised counter-unmanned aerial systems (UAS) equipment, along with the S-400 “Sudarshan Chakra.”
