Barnala police arrest four members of a gang, 4 weapons recovered | India News – Times of India

BATHINDA: Acting on specific intelligence, a party of Barnala police team apprehended four members of a group associated with Bambiha gang. Four weapons including a Turkey made Zigana pistol has been recovered from the arrested persons, belonging to Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Those arrested have been identified as Satnam Singh @ Satti (linked with Bambiha Gang) from Barnala, Gurpreet @ Guri from Bhadaur, Sarm Singh @ Rinku from Delhi, and Deepak Singh from Kaithal in Haryana. Barnala Senior Superintendent of Police Md Sarfaraz Alam said a naka was laid at Khudi road late Friday. The suspected persons were coming in a Verna car and when they were signaled to stop, they opened fire on the police party. The alert police personnel saved them and overpowered them along with the Verna car PB-13-BZ-9164. The police recovered 1 pistol Zigana, 1 pistol .30 bore, two pistols .32 bore with live cartridges from them. SSP said that Satnam Singh is a habitual offender with 22 criminal cases against him including under charges of murder, attempt to murder, Arms Act and NDPS Act. Sarm Singh and Deepak Singh are also linked to narcotics trade. Further investigations are being made. A case under various sections has been registered against them.
