Anil Antony, Congress leader AK Antony’s son, joins BJP | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India
Anil had resigned from the Congress after his tweet criticising the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi created unease in the grand old party.
Anil, who headed the Digital Media cell of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, slammed the Congress leadership for working for a “single family” instead of working for the country.
“Many of the Congress leaders believe that their duty is to work for a particular family but I believe that my duty is to work for the people. PM Narendra Modi has a clear vision to make India a developed country in the next 25 years,” Anil Antony said soon after joining the BJP.
“This is not about personalities, this is about difference of opinion and ideas. I strongly believe that I have taken the right step. My respect for my father will remain the same,” Antony said when asked whether he had consulted his father before joining the BJP.
In his resignation letter, he said that the resignation was due to the intolerant calls he has received to his tweets.
Anil Antony had come out against the BCC indulging in the matters of our country, in the wake of the screening of the documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
