Hit by speeding car on Uttarakhand road, 6-year-old tiger dies | India News – Times of India

RUDRAPUR: A six-year-old tiger died after it was hit by a speeding car, which was heading towards Rudrapur. The accident occurred on Saturday around 8 pm on Haldwani road.
The driver of the vehicle, a resident of Haldwani, sustained injuries during the collision, and was reportedly in a state of shock upon encountering the unexpected presence of the big cat on the road.The impact also inflicted damage on the car.
As news of the incident spread, a queue of vehicles formed at the site, with curious onlookers making reels at the spot. Meanwhile, forest department personnel took possession of the tiger’s body and were preparing to send it for post-mortem when this report was filed.
In a separate incident, a 5-year old male leopard was killed in a collision with an unidentified vehicle on national highway-74. The incident occurred near Dharampur village in Jaspur area of Udham Singh Nagar on Saturday. Devendu Rajwar, ranger of the area, said that a case will soon be registered against the errant vehicle driver.
