4 dead, 34 injured after massive explosion at chemical company in Dombivli’s MIDC | India News – Times of India

KALYAN: Around 4 person dead and 34 injured after a major blast reported at reactor of Amudan Chemical Company located in Dombivli MIDC phase 2.
The blast was so big that parts of it reactor fell on nearby companies and major fire took place which later spread into three neighbouring Mehta paint, Saptavarna chemical and KGN company.
The locals said that blast vibrations was feel by the area of around three kilometres while glasses of shops and houses were broken in around one kilometre making loss of hundreds of people.
The fire reported at around 1.30 pm when staff at Amudan chemical company were doing some process of chemical at reactor of plant when suddenly explosion took place.
After fire incident,the fire team from Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation rushed at spot to control the fire. However since chemical was not controlled by fire rescue team used foam which they brought from Century Rayon and Gharda chemical to control fire.
The fire team is yet trying to control the fire. After fire incident, the injured in mishap are rushed to AIMS hospital, Neptune hospital, Shastri Nagar Hospital and other nearby hospitals.
