The country celebrated the beginning of the ten-day-long Ganesh festival that started on Saturday, September 7. Devotees thronged in large numbers to Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja. Many mandals brought in their Ganpati idols with grand processions in the last two or three days.

Ganesh puja was celebrated in Odisha on Saturday amid religious fervour and enthusiasm. Revellers took to pandal hopping in the city with vigour on Ganesh Chaturthi, while several educational institutions were decked up on the occasion.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and other leaders on Saturday welcomed Lord Ganesh at his official residence in south Mumbai as the 10-day festival began with pomp.
