Tripura Woman Brutally Assaulted By Live-In Partner In Gurugram After Late-Night Argument

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in Gurugram after allegedly assaulting his live-in partner, a biotechnology student, at a paying guest accommodation in the city. The accused, identified as Shivam, a Delhi resident, was detained after the Badshahpur police station received a complaint.
According to the police, the incident surfaced when the victim’s mother called them, reporting that her daughter had been severely assaulted by her live-in partner, who had become suspicious of her character.
Police quickly arrived at the Great PG in Sector 69, Gurugram, where they apprehended the accused and began their investigation.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Hitesh Yadav stated that the victim, a North Tripura resident and a biotechnology student at GD Goenka University, was admitted to a government hospital in Gurugram in critical condition.
Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later referred to AIIMS in Delhi for advanced treatment. Hospital authorities confirmed that the victim had multiple serious injuries.
Police revealed that the victim and the accused had met in September 2025 and had been living together. Their families had even discussed marriage. However, a late-night argument between the couple escalated into violence, during which Shivam allegedly assaulted the victim.
A case has been registered, and the accused has been arrested.
Further investigation is ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the assault.
