Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Credits Father’s Wisdom For His Aggressive Approach

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi credits his father for valuing team victories over personal milestones, as the Rajasthan Royals star attacks top bowlers with fearless intent.

Star Rajasthan Royals batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has said that his father has always told him the importance of runs which come in a winning cause, adding that his father has said that cricket is a team game and even if he scores runs and the team doesn’t win, they are of no use.
Vaibhav has taken on some of the finest bowlers in world cricket, relying on instinct rather than reputation. Whether facing ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, or Bhuvneshwar Kumar, he has attacked from the very first delivery, putting even the best bowling attacks under pressure.
Vaibhav has shown no inclination to slow down for personal milestones, something reflected in the two tense scores in the 90s he has recorded this season. Even on the brink of a hundred, his mindset remains the same: keep attacking, keep finding boundaries and keep the opposition under pressure
“Since childhood, my father has always told me that if you score a hundred, a double hundred, or even a triple hundred, but the team doesn’t win due to it, then those runs hold no value,” Vaibhav said while speaking on JioStar.
“They may only be for your personal record, but they don’t benefit the team. Cricket, in the end, is a team game. So, if I score 80 instead of a hundred and my team wins and if we still don’t win despite me scoring a century, then that 80 means more to me than the hundred,” Vaibhav added.
Despite breaking multiple records this season, Vaibhav said that his primary focus remains on helping the team progress further in the tournament rather than chasing individual achievements.
“The longer my team stays in the tournament and the deeper we go into the playoffs and finals, the more chances I will get to score hundreds and achieve whatever records I want to break,” Vaibhav said.
