Senior IPS officer Mahesh Dixit appointed new IB chief: Reports

NEW DELHI: The government has appointed senior IPS officer Mahesh Dixit as the next Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), the country’s domestic intelligence agency, PTI reported on Thursday.The current IB chief, Tapan Deka, was appointed to the post in June 2022 and has since received two one-year extensions, in June 2024 and June 2025.(Developing story)
