Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: The inspiration behind The Game of Destiny came from my own life journey. This book was born not from imagination, but from real experiences—years of struggle, success, failure, broken relationships, legal battles, and ultimately, hope and new beginnings. There were many chapters of my life that I once wished I could forget, but over time I realized that those very experiences had valuable lessons to offer others. While writing this memoir, I relived many difficult memories. There were moments when writing became emotionally challenging, but I continued because I believe that if one person’s story can give even one reader the courage to keep moving forward during a difficult phase of life, then sharing that journey is worthwhile. I did not write this book to seek sympathy or to criticize anyone. I wrote it to present an honest account of my life, to show that setbacks do not define our destiny, and that with faith, resilience, and perseverance, every ending can become the beginning of a new chapter. My hope is that readers will not only understand my journey but also find strength, hope, and inspiration for their own lives.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: The Game of Destiny – Part I: Struggle • Faith • A New Beginning is an autobiographical nonfiction memoir that chronicles my journey from a small town in Rajasthan to becoming a Chartered Accountant, working internationally, and navigating some of the most challenging phases of my personal and professional life. It is a story of dreams, perseverance, setbacks, relationships, legal struggles, and ultimately, hope and renewal. The book follows my life in chronological order—from my childhood and early education, through career choices, professional assignments abroad, and the deeply personal experiences that shaped my character. Along the way, it explores themes of resilience, integrity, faith, family values, and the difficult decisions that define our lives. More than a personal memoir, The Game of Destiny is a story about the extraordinary journey of an ordinary person. It is not written to seek sympathy or to blame anyone, but to honestly share life’s realities and the lessons learned through adversity. My hope is that readers who have experienced failure, broken relationships, legal challenges, or uncertainty will find encouragement in its pages and discover that every setback can become the beginning of a new chapter.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: The title, The Game of Destiny, reflects my belief that life is shaped by the continuous interplay between destiny, our choices, circumstances, and faith. Throughout my journey, I experienced moments that seemed completely beyond my control—unexpected opportunities, painful setbacks, personal losses, legal battles, and life-changing turning points. Looking back, I realized that while destiny may place challenges before us, it is our response to those challenges that ultimately shapes who we become. The word “Game” symbolizes the unpredictability of life. Just as in a game, we cannot always control the circumstances or the moves made by others, but we can control our own decisions, resilience, and determination to keep moving forward. Every victory, defeat, and unexpected turn became part of a much larger journey that I could only fully understand in hindsight. Ultimately, the title captures the central message of the book: destiny may influence the road we travel, but courage, faith, and perseverance determine how we walk that road. Through this memoir, I invite readers to reflect on a question that runs throughout the book: Who truly writes our destiny—time, circumstance, God, or we ourselves?

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: Writing The Game of Destiny was one of the most emotional journeys of my life. It taught me that writing is not just about documenting events—it is about confronting the past with honesty, accepting both successes and failures, and finding meaning in experiences that once felt painful. As I revisited different chapters of my life, I realized that every setback, every difficult decision, and every unexpected turn had contributed to shaping the person I am today. The process also reinforced my belief that resilience is one of life’s greatest strengths. I learned that adversity, however difficult, often becomes our greatest teacher, and that forgiveness, faith, and perseverance are far more powerful than bitterness. Looking back, I understood that what once seemed like endings were often the beginnings of new opportunities and personal growth. Above all, writing this book deepened my conviction that personal stories have the power to inspire others. If my experiences encourage even one reader to face life’s challenges with courage, hope, and determination, then writing this memoir has fulfilled its purpose.

Q: Do You Have Any Suggestions To Help Others To Become A Better Writer? If So, What Are They?

A: My advice to aspiring writers is simple: write with honesty before you write with style. Readers may forget a beautifully written sentence, but they rarely forget genuine emotions and authentic experiences. Whether you are writing fiction or nonfiction, sincerity creates the strongest connection with your audience. I also believe that patience and perseverance are essential. Writing a book is not a race; it is a journey. There will be days when the words come easily and days when they do not. Keep writing, keep learning, and don’t be afraid to revise your work. Every draft is an opportunity to improve. Finally, write about something that truly matters to you. In my case, The Game of Destiny was inspired by real-life experiences that shaped my life. Because I wrote from the heart, the process was deeply emotional but also deeply meaningful. My hope is that every writer finds a story they genuinely believe in, because when you write with conviction and authenticity, readers can feel it in every page.

Q: What, In Your Opinion, Are The Most Important Elements Of Good Writing?

A: In my opinion, the most important elements of good writing are honesty, authenticity, clarity, emotional connection, and purpose. A well-written book is not judged only by the beauty of its language, but by its ability to make readers feel, reflect, and connect with the story. When a writer is honest and writes from the heart, readers can sense that authenticity. I also believe that good writing should be accessible and meaningful. Whether telling a true story or creating fiction, a writer should communicate ideas clearly while respecting the reader’s intelligence and emotions. Every chapter should have a purpose and contribute to the overall journey of the book. Above all, I believe good writing should leave a lasting impact. If a book can inspire readers to think differently, find hope during difficult times, or discover the courage to keep moving forward, then it has achieved something truly meaningful. That is the kind of writing I aspire to create.

Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A: The most difficult part of writing for me is revisiting deeply personal and emotional experiences. Since The Game of Destiny is an autobiographical memoir, writing it meant reliving many moments of joy, struggle, heartbreak, and uncertainty. There were times when memories became so overwhelming that I had to stop writing because the emotions felt as real as when I first experienced them. At the same time, I wanted to tell my story with complete honesty while remaining fair and respectful to everyone involved. Finding the right balance between emotional truth, factual accuracy, and sensitivity toward the privacy of others was one of the greatest challenges throughout the writing process. Despite those challenges, I believe the effort was worthwhile. If sharing my experiences helps even one reader find hope, courage, or the strength to persevere through a difficult chapter of life, then every emotional moment I experienced while writing this book has served a meaningful purpose.

Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A: To me, success is not defined by wealth, status, or recognition. True success is the ability to remain true to your values, overcome adversity, and continue moving forward despite life’s challenges. A person who learns from failure, treats others with integrity, and never loses hope has achieved a form of success that no external accomplishment can replace. My own life has taught me that success is not a destination but a journey. There were times when I achieved professional milestones, and there were times when I faced personal setbacks and legal struggles. Looking back, I realize that those difficult moments taught me far more than my achievements ever could. They shaped my character, strengthened my faith, and made me more resilient. Ultimately, I believe success is measured by the positive impact we have on others. If my work inspires even one person to face life’s challenges with courage, faith, and determination, I will consider that a meaningful success. That is the philosophy behind The Game of Destiny and the legacy I hope to leave as a writer.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?

A: My greatest ideas for writing come from real life. I draw inspiration from my own experiences, the people I have met, the challenges I have faced, and the lessons life has taught me over the years. I believe that every experience—whether joyful or painful—has a story worth telling and a lesson worth sharing. In The Game of Destiny, my inspiration came from reflecting on my own journey—my childhood, education, professional life, relationships, setbacks, legal battles, and new beginnings. Rather than writing to entertain alone, I wanted to write a story that was honest, meaningful, and capable of giving readers hope during difficult times. I also believe that the greatest ideas come from careful observation and reflection. Every person has a unique story, and every challenge carries a lesson. As a writer, my role is to recognize those moments, understand their deeper meaning, and present them in a way that readers can connect with emotionally. If my experiences encourage someone to keep moving forward despite adversity, then the purpose behind my writing has been fulfilled.

Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?

A: My advice to aspiring authors is to write with honesty, patience, and purpose. Don’t try to imitate someone else’s voice or write simply because a topic is popular. Instead, write about something you genuinely believe in. Authenticity is what creates a lasting connection with readers. Be patient with the process. Writing a book takes time, discipline, and perseverance. There will be moments of self-doubt and challenges along the way, but don’t let them discourage you. Keep writing, keep revising, and never stop learning. Every draft is an opportunity to improve your craft. Finally, remember that writing is about making a meaningful connection with your readers. If your words can make someone pause, reflect, find hope, or gather the courage to face a difficult chapter of life, then your writing has achieved something truly worthwhile. That is the kind of impact every author should strive to create.
