Amid the love and appreciation, Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his son Junaid Khan’s movie Ek Din, lauded Vijay Varma’s performance in Matka King.

Vijay Varma’s crime series Matka King premiered on Amazon Prime Video on April 17. The series, directed by Nagraj Manjule, has been garnering praise for its solid and gripping narrative. Amid the love and appreciation, Aamir Khan, who is gearing up for the release of his son Junaid Khan’s movie Ek Din, lauded Vijay Varma’s performance in it. He also said that he would watch the series after the release of Ek Din.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Aamir Khan Productions shared a congratulatory note for the team behind Matka King while highlighting its central character. In the message, Aamir revealed that Ratan Khatri is a role he would have loved to play, adding that he has been hearing strong word-of-mouth about the series. The note read, “Congratulation to Nagraj, Sid, Vijay, and the entire team of Matka King. Ratan Khatri is a character I would have loved to play. I’m sure Vijay must have killed it. Directed by Nagraj Manjule and created by Abhay Koranne, Matka King features an ensemble cast including Kritika Kamra, Sai Tamhankar, Siddharth Jadhav, Bhupendra Jadawat and Gulshan Grover. Matka King follows Brij Bhatti, a sharp-minded and enterprising cotton trader, played by the dynamic Vijay Varma, who navigates the fast-changing landscape of 1960s Bombay in pursuit of legitimacy and respect.
