Arsenal Announce Sensational Eberechi Eze Hijack From Tottenham: ‘His Ambition…’

Arsenal sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace for 68 million GBP. Eze, a boyhood Arsenal fan, will wear Number 10.

Arsenal Football Club announced the signing of Eberechi Eze, the Crystal Palace creative attacking midfielder, ahead of their clash against Leeds United at the Emirates Stadium in North London. Eze, who can also play on the left wing, joins at a transfer fee of nearly 68 million GBP (Rs. 803 crore), and will wear Number 10.
It is a sensational scoop for the North Londoners, who, despite finishing second in the Premier League last season, have looked stale at times on the left side of their attack. It’s an even better one for the fans, considering Eze is a boyhood Arsenal fan, who was at the club academy Hale End till he was 13, and had a deal nearly agreed with direct rivals Tottenham Hotspur, before Mikel Arteta’s team swooped in.
“We are absolutely delighted to bring Eberechi to Arsenal,” Arteta said in a statement. “He is a powerful and exciting player who will give us a new dimension in our attacking game. What stands out just as much as his talent and intelligence as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get where he is today. His journey, his mentality, and his ambition are exactly what we want in our team, and we love how much it means to him and his family to be joining our club. We all look forward to start working with Eberechi soon,” he added.
This is the sixth big signing of the summer for the new sporting director Andrea Berta, who has been tasked to bring the North Londoners enough horsepower to take them over the line.

After breaking through at Queens Park Rangers, Eze moved back to the Premier League with Crystal Palace in 2020. Here, he made 150 appearances and won the FA Cup final (where he scored the winner) and the FA Community Shield. The England international has won 11 full caps and was a member of the Euro 2024 squad.
