Ahead of the State Assembly’s monsoon session starting on September 1, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has called for “collective efforts” to achieve the goals of the “Developed Rajasthan-2047” vision and evolve better coordination between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organisation and the government.

Mr. Sharma held marathon meetings with the BJP MPs, MLAs, party office-bearers and the BJP candidates in the 2023 Assembly election at his official residence in Jaipur for two days, ending on Tuesday (August 26, 2025). The interactions were held with the groups of leaders representing different Parliamentary constituencies.

Mr. Sharma asked the party leaders to play an active role in taking the public welfare schemes of both the Centre and the State to the common people. “We must focus on the work at every level… Unity within the party is the biggest factor crucial for strengthening the party among the people,” he said.

The series of dialogues began on Monday (August 25, 2025) with the representatives from southern and south-eastern constituencies, including Kota and Udaipur, joining the interaction. On Tuesday (August 26, 2025, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, representing the Jodhpur Lok Sabha constituency, was among the BJP leaders present at the meeting.

BJP State president Madan Rathore attended the marathon meetings on both days. Mr. Rathore said the State government had made significant achievements in the water and power sectors, while the implementation of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project and a concrete shape given to the Yamuna Water Agreement would resolve the difficulties faced by people in several regions.

The outreach to the party leaders was seen here as a confidence-building measure, reflecting Mr. Sharma’s desire to quell any doubts about his leadership amid speculations in different quarters. Though the next Assembly election is three years away, the ruling BJP wants to establish a robust organisational structure in the State with the focus on the government’s work.

Mr. Sharma said while his government believed in participatory development, the previous Congress regime had worked only for “commission”. “Amid the all-pervading corruption and misgovernance, the Congress government crushed the dreams of the youth with the exam paper leaks,” he said, while affirming that not a single paper was leaked since the BJP came to power.

The Chief Minister said 80% of the announcements made in the last two budgets had already been implemented. He asked the BJP MLAs to participate actively in the upcoming Assembly session and put forth their views strongly about the government’s achievements.
