Exclusive interview with the author
Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?
A: I believe the seed was already there within me. As I stepped into my teens, it began to sprout. Anything of beauty—be it a moment, a feeling, or a glimpse of nature—would urge me to pen down a few lines. Slowly, writing became a natural part of me. Over time, I began exploring a wide spectrum of themes: from the serenity of nature to the complexities of life, from the heights of love to the depths of human misery, and even the humorous quirks of people. The flow of love and emotions seemed to never end. Writing became both a reflection and a release.
Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?
A: This book is a compilation of my poetic works so far—each piece born out of a different mood, emotion, or life experience. Many of the poems are dedicated to life itself: its grandeur, its unpredictability, and its beauty. It’s an ode to the inner spark that resides in every one of us. I often see myself as a poet of grease and glue—the essential elements that hold life together: love, romance, longing, belonging. These poems are not just writings; they are experience and aspirations woven into words.
Q: What Does The Title Mean?
A: It is often said: dreamers are achievers. But dreams don’t just come true—they must be pursued, embraced, and sometimes even fought for. The title of this book captures the essence of those dreams and the thoughts that accompany them. What fascinates me is that this ‘department’ of dreams is never out of stock—it stays with us until our very last breath. One fulfilled dream gives birth to another. The goalpost keeps moving, and we keep running—fuelled by hope, desire, and that indefinable spark that refuses to die.
Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?
A:That life is, in its essence, beautiful—and deserves to be loved in all its forms. We often chase distant dreams, consumed by what’s next, forgetting to appreciate what we already have. This chase drains us of our joy and energy. Through writing, I learned to embrace the now, to savor the small, seemingly mundane moments, and to be grateful. Life may not always be perfect, but even in its imperfections, there is profound beauty. Writing reminded me to count my blessings, not just my goals.
Q: How Long Does It Take You To Write A Book?
A: Unlike prose, which can often be planned and written in a structured manner, poetry requires a different approach. It demands an overflow of emotion—a moment of truth, a wave of inspiration. You need that sensitivity, that ‘eye’, that stirring within. Only then can the pen move and the words take shape. So, writing a book of poetry isn’t measured in hours or days—it’s measured in moments of emotional intensity.
Q: When Did You Write Your First Book And How Old Were You?
A: I published my first book at the age of 30. But the raw material—the emotions, the reflections, the observations—had already taken shape in my twenties. Much like the anticipation and nervousness of first-time parents, the first book brought with it curiosity, anxiety, and immense joy. That experience remains unforgettable. It marked the beginning of a journey I continue to walk with the same passion.
Q: How Many Books Have You Written? Which Is Your Favourite?
A: I’ve written more than 25 books so far. Choosing a favorite is nearly impossible—they’re all dear to me. Each book is a labor of love, a piece of my soul, born out of different phases of life. They carry my thoughts, my moods, my joys, and my struggles. Just as a parent cannot pick a favorite child, I cherish all my books equally.
