Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: I was inspired by my fascination with crime investigations, moral ambiguity, and the secrets that can exist within families. I wanted to create a thriller that begins with mysterious deaths and expands into a global conspiracy, while exploring trust, ambition, justice, and the difficult choices people make when power and loyalty collide.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: The Guardian’s Daughter is an international crime thriller about suspended Inspector Raman and private investigator Delo Rose. Their search for the truth behind two suspicious deaths and a missing woman exposes a secret global organisation, hidden betrayals, and a conspiracy tied to Rose’s own family.

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: I learned that writing a thriller requires patience, careful research, and close attention to detail. Every clue, character choice, and twist must connect convincingly. I also learned how ambition, fear, loyalty, and family secrets can shape people—and that the line between justice and wrongdoing is often more complicated than it appears.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?

A: I get ideas from observation, my personal travel, current affairs, technology, and the complexities of human behaviour. I research professions, and investigative procedures, then combine those details with imagination. Everyday conversations and difficult moral choices often inspire the characters, conflicts, and twists that shape my stories.

Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?

A: I try to balance both. Originality gives a story its identity, but readers also expect engaging characters, suspense, and emotional satisfaction. I begin with the story I genuinely want to tell, then consider how to keep readers invested. The aim is to surprise them without losing the elements they enjoy.

Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?

A: Research is extremely important to me, especially when writing a crime thriller. It helps make the investigative procedures, locations, technology, and character professions believable. Strong research provides the foundation, while imagination turns those facts into suspense, conflict, and an engaging story.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Greatest Ideas For Writing?

A: My greatest ideas often come from ordinary moments—a conversation, a place I visit, a news story, or an unanswered question. I am especially inspired by human behaviour, hidden motives, moral dilemmas, and the thought that something familiar may conceal a much larger mystery.
