Exclusive interview with the author

Q: What Inspired You To Write This Book?

A: I wanted to write a story about the kind of love that is not always expressed through words, but is felt through actions, sacrifice, and responsibility. The idea grew around a simple thought: sometimes life takes us on journeys we never planned, and the choices we make along the way can change many lives. That thought became the foundation of Gamanam.

Q: Can You Tell Us About The Book?

A: Gamanam is an emotional and suspenseful journey of Krishna, whose life takes unexpected turns through love, friendship, family, responsibility, sacrifice, and revenge. It is not just a love story; it explores how relationships and difficult choices can change the course of our lives. At its heart, Gamanam is about a journey he never asked for, but had to undertake.

Q: What Does The Title Mean?

A: “Gamanam” means a journey. But for me, it represents much more than simply travelling from one place to another. It represents Krishna’s journey through love, loss, responsibility, sacrifice, pain, and ultimately hope. He never planned or asked for this journey, yet every step changes him and the people around him. That is why I felt “Gamanam” was the right title for the story.

Q: What Did You Learn When Writing The Book?

A: Writing Gamanam taught me that every character has a reason behind their actions, even when their choices are difficult to understand. I also learned that love is not always about being together. Sometimes, it is about understanding, sacrifice, responsibility, and putting someone else’s life before your own. Most importantly, I learned that a story becomes meaningful when its emotions stay with the reader even after the final page.

Q: Where Do You Get Your Information Or Ideas For Your Books?

A: My ideas mainly come from my imagination, observations of people and life, and my love for cinema. I often think about different situations and relationships and ask myself, “What if this happened?” Sometimes a simple thought can stay in my mind for a long time and gradually develop into a story. That is how the idea for Gamanam began.

Q: Do You Try More To Be Original Or To Deliver To Readers What They Want?

A: I believe originality should come first, while keeping the readers in mind. I don’t want to simply give readers what they expect; I want to take them through something they may not have expected, while still keeping them emotionally connected to the story. With Gamanam, I tried to bring together love, suspense, action, and emotions in my own way.

Q: What Is The Most Difficult Part About Writing For You?

A: The most difficult part is bringing together different emotions, relationships, suspense, and action while making sure the story remains engaging. It is easy to have an idea, but turning that idea into a complete story where every important moment has a purpose takes a lot of thought.

Q: What Does Success Mean To You? What Is The Definition Of Success?

A: For me, success doesn’t always have to be something big. Sometimes, simply going to bed and waking up the next morning is also a success. Completing a task that I once thought was difficult is a success. Finishing Gamanam, which started as an idea in my mind, is also a success for me. I believe success is different for everyone; it is about appreciating every small step and achievement in our journey.

Q: How Important Is Research To You When Writing A Book?

A: Research is important whenever the story requires it. I believe the details should feel believable to the reader, so I try to understand the situations and subjects that are important to the story. At the same time, I don’t want research to take away from the emotions and flow of the narrative.

Q: What Advice Would You Give To Aspiring Authors?

A: I am still at the beginning of my journey as a writer, so I don’t feel I have enough experience to give advice to others. But one thing I would say is, if you have a story in your mind, give yourself a chance to write it. Don’t worry too much about whether it will be perfect. Start writing, keep learning, and complete what you started.
