Iran-US War Ceasefire News Live: Iran’s Araghchi Meets Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir Ahead Of US Talks
Iran-US War Ceasefire News Live Updates: After a confirmation on an Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi’s trip to Islamabad on Friday, the White House stated that U.S. Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will head to Islamabad Saturday morning, April 25, 2026, for a new round of peace talks with Tehran.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who led the delegation during the first round of discussions, will not be part of the delegation, but is on “standby”.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that he is “embarking on a timely tour of Islamabad, Muscat and Moscow”.
Later, in a post on ‘X’, Foreign ministry spokesperson Esmael Baqaei stated, “No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the U.S.”
Instead, he added, Pakistani officials would convey messages between the two sides.
‘Clock Ticking’ For Iran?
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States is in no rush to end the war with Iran but “the clock is ticking” for the Islamic republic.
“I have all the time in the World, but Iran doesn’t — The clock is ticking!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social, adding that Iran’s military was destroyed and “their leaders are no longer with us, the Blockade is airtight and strong and, from there, it only gets worse.”
Earlier, Trump had ordered the U.S. Navy to destroy any Iranian boat caught laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz — a key maritime chokepoint that accounts for nearly one-fifth of the global oil and gas trade.
