Iran-US-Israel War Ceasefire, Peace Talks In Islamabad Live Updates: US Vice President JD Vance on Sunday said talks with Iran failed to yield an agreement, adding that he was leaving after presenting what he described as a “final and best offer.”

Vance indicated that Washington is still giving Tehran time to consider the proposal, noting that the United States had earlier paused joint attacks with Israel for two weeks to allow space for negotiations.

“We leave here with a very simple proposal, a method of understanding that is our final and best offer. We’ll see if the Iranians accept it,” Vance told reporters after 21 hours of talks in Islamabad.

He said the central sticking point remains the nuclear issue. While Iran maintains it is not pursuing an atomic bomb, the United States and Israel have targeted key Iranian facilities both during the conflict that began on February 28 and in strikes carried out last year.

Meanwhile, ahead of Vance’s announcement, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stressed that progress hinges on Washington avoiding “excessive demands” and respecting Iran’s rights. Talks also covered sanctions relief, war reparations, and a complete end to hostilities.
