Israel Conducts Air Strike on ‘Terrorist Compound’ at Mosque in West Bank’s Jenin – News18

Israeli military said Sunday it struck an “underground terror route” at a mosque in the northern West Bank city of Jenin where members of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad were sheltering. The strike hit the Al-Ansar mosque, which the Israeli military said: “was used by the terrorists as a command centre to plan the attacks and as a base for their execution.”

“The IDF & ISA just conducted an aerial strike on a Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist compound in the Al-Ansar Mosque in Jenin. Recent IDF intel revealed that the Mosque was used as a command center to plan and execute terrorist attacks against civilians,” Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a post on X.

The Israeli military said those targeted had already carried out “several terror attacks over the last months and were organising an additional imminent terror attack.” In a separate statement, the Israeli Air Force said, “The terrorist cell also carried out a terror attack on October 14th in the area of the security fence, where an explosive device was detonated by a cellular activation of terror forces who arrived at the scene.”

Dozens of people have been killed in the West Bank since October 7, when Hamas militants stormed into Israel and killed at least 1,400 people, who were shot, mutilated or burnt to death. According to the Hamas-run health ministry, Israel has launched heavy bombardment of the Gaza Strip in retaliation, killing over 4,300 people.
