Several social media users claimed that the person in the video was the comedian and linked the alleged arrest to his absence from the ECL (Entertainers Cricket League) Season 3 curtain-raiser on September 28. Munawar has now addressed the claim himself, shutting down the speculation.

The viral video shows a man being taken towards a vehicle, while the person recording the footage calls him ‘Munawar’. After the clip was shared online, some users claimed that the comedian had been arrested the previous night. One such post alleged that Munawar’s absence from the ECL event was because he had been taken into custody.

Now, Munawar has reacted to the viral video with a sarcastic comment. “Mai bhi khudko hi dhundh raha hun video mai (I’m also looking for myself in the video),” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

With the response, Munawar appeared to indicate that he was not the man seen in the footage and dismissed the arrest claim.

There has been no credible report confirming that Munawar was arrested on Monday night. His response to the viral video has also addressed the claim directly, with the comedian suggesting that the person shown in the footage was not him.
