‘Nothing But A Formality!’ Napoli Look To Make Rasmus Hojlund Deal Permanent

Serie A champions Napoli confirmed their interest in triggering the clause to buy on-loan striker Rasmus Hojlund on a permanent deal from Manchester United next summer.
Reports suggest that the four-time Italian title winners will shell out €44m to buy the Dane outright, in addition to the €6m loan fee they have paid the Mancunian club.

Hojlund has managed to find the back of the net 6 times in 12 Serie A outings this season as Napoli stand third at the end of 16 games with 34 points, two adrift of top-placed Inter and one below second-placed Milan.
Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna stated, “We had no doubts, regardless of adaptation time.”
“Rasmus is decisive in terms of numbers and, above all, in how he develops and absorbs the coach’s input. That’s what makes the difference.”
“On if the club already triggered his buy option: “There’s an obligation in case of Champions League qualification, with a right to buy. The player considers himself part of Napoli, and Napoli consider him extremely important,” he added.
Hojlund, who followed Scott McTominay at the Neapolitan club, has gone on to perform exceedingly well in the Italian side’s attempt at a title defence as Napoli continue to challenge for the crown.
“United made it quite clear for me that I wasn’t part of the plans for this year, coming into the season, and with no European football in that sort of sense,” Hojlund explained.
“I think Napoli saw an opportunity to get me, and as soon as I heard the interest, from then I made it clear to my camp that I only wanted to go there,” the Dane said.
