For a long time now, there has been an ongoing debate around the high entourage cost of Bollywood actors. Last year, it was reported that Ranveer Singh requires three vanity vans for films, and the average maintenance cost of one van is around Rs 10-15 lakh. While this claim was not confirmed, Dhurandhar’s credits have made these reports resurface.
A Redditor posted a screenshot of Dhurandhar’s credit sequence, highlighting how “Hamza” had three vanity vans on set- Hamza van, Hamza staff van, Hamza normal van. Many believed that this was Ranveer Singh, as he plays Hamza in the film. The credits also mention one van each for R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal.
One person wrote on X, “Curious as to why it says Hamza for Ranveer and says Madhavan instead of Sanyal or says Arjun instead of Iqbal. Why this inconsistency?” Another added, “Oh my word! Vanity vans hai ya city buses ka depot??” Someone else wrote, “But look how much he gave back in record numbers.” A comment read, “It’s their working conditions and producers do have the right to reject or accept their demands simple as that.”
Last year, a Hollywood Reporter India report claimed that Ranveer Singh uses three vanity vans. “Ranveer Singh requires three vanity vans when he’s on a shoot schedule. One for his personal use, one is a gym van, one is for his private chef,” a source close to the actor told the publication. The report also stated the average maintenance cost of a van is around Rs 10-15 lakh.
While the actor hasn’t responded to these claims, he is gearing up for the release of Dhurandhar 2 in March this year. The film’s teaser was recently released, and fans can’t wait for Hamza’s story to be explored with greater depth.
