How BJP Leaders React To Chandranath Rath’s Murder?

On his PA’s murder, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said, “This is a pre-planned murder, and this is what DGP said. A recce was done for 2-3 days and a murdered was fully planned. The police initiated investigation… We are grieving and are at lack of words for condemning this incident. Our entire leadership from Delhi has taken information about this. Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar talked to the family (of the deceased) and the police… Various leaders and chosen MLAs have come here from their regions… The police have found some evidence and they will investigate…”

“This is the result of 15 years of Maha-Jungle Raj… BJP will start the cleansing work of the goons here…”

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar says, “This is a tragic incident and the police are investigating the matter… The DGP has informed us that significant progress has been made in the investigation. No one will be spared. Everyone will be brought to justice through the legal process… Reports suggest that five shots were fired; let the post-mortem examination be completed first…”

“As soon as our Chief Minister takes the oath and our government assumes power, everything will be set right—though it may take a little time,” he added.

BJP State Vice President Anindya Banerjee (Raju) said, “We will not tolerate any hooliganism at all. After the 2021 elections, our 300 workers were killed by TMC goons. We are a national party, we do not tolerate all this. We have instructed our workers not to get drawn into the provocation that TMC is stirring up. But how long can you hold them back? I am thanking the workers… This was a planned murder. We have asked the police to drag the culprits out from anywhere they hide…”

‘Have Seized Vehicle Used In Crime, Probe Underway’: West Bengal DGP

West Bengal DGP Siddh Nath Gupta says, “We have started the investigation of the case. We have seized the 4-wheeler used in the crime, but it is being reported that the number plate of the car is false and has been tampered with. We found live rounds and fired cartridges from the spot. The eye-witnesses and evidence are being processed and further investigation is underway.”

TMC Reacts To Suvendu PA’s Murder

In a post on X, TMC wrote, “We strongly condemn the brutal murder of Chandranath Rath in Madhyamgram tonight, along with the killing of three other TMC workers in incidents of post-poll violence allegedly carried out by BJP-backed miscreants over the last three days, despite the Model Code of Conduct being in force.”

We demand the strongest possible action in this matter, including a court-monitored CBI investigation so that those responsible are identified and brought to justice without delay. Violence and political killings have no place in a democracy and the guilty must be held accountable at the earliest.
