UP: Teenage student found dead in Mau; murder suspected

Mau (UP), Apr 27 (PTI) The body of a 17-year-old student bearing multiple injury marks was found dumped in a field in the Haldharpur area here on Monday, police said.
Police suspect that the deceased, Vipul Yadav, a resident of Ardauna village, was murdered at a different location, following which his body was dumped in Haldharpur. His father, Bhupendra Yadav, works abroad, they said.
The body was found by villagers heading to the fields early in the morning, following which the police arrived at the scene and sent it for a post-mortem, they said.
The youth had significant injuries to the back of his head, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anup Kumar said.
“Prima facie, it appears to be a case of murder. There is a strong suspicion that the victim was killed at a different location and the body was later abandoned here to mislead the investigation,” he said.
Police are currently questioning family members and local residents to identify any potential leads or personal enmity, he said. PTI COR ABN MDO ABN MDO KSI KSI
