LUCKNOW: A day after Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath rushed to Ayodhya on Tuesday night to monitor crowd control arrangements, with over 5 lakh devotees congregating at the temple town for Ram Lalla’s darshan, the state administration on Wednesday deployed Rapid Action Force and Central Reserve Police Force for efficient crowd management.
The CM also made an appeal to VIPs and distinguished people planning a trip to Ayodhya to notify local administration, Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust or UP government before scheduling their visit in the next seven to 10 days.
More than 2.5 lakh devotees visited the temple till late evening on Tuesday, as top officials, including Sanjay Prasad, principal secretary (home), and Prashant Kumar, DG (law and order), supervised crowd management.
The huge influx of devotees was seen at not just the Ram Temple, but at the adjoining Hanuman Garhi temple as well. Looking at the response of devotees, the temple administration has extended the time for darshan, starting from 6am to 10pm.
In a bid to regulate the heavy traffic into Ayodhya, barricades were put up 15km from the city’s borders on highways. CM is keeping a watch on crowd management in Ayodhya, sources said.
“We erected temporary barricades inside the sanctum sanctorum of Ram Mandir, with additional personnel from district police and UP special security force (UPSSF) deployed there,” Prashant Kumar told TOI.
He said the public facilitation centre was made fully functional on Wednes-day, making it easy for devotees to keep their things and go for darshan.
