India going to be front row at the world’s transformation: French President Macron | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: President Emmanuel Macron shared his admiration for India and emphasized France‘s desire for increased investments in the country. Macron praised India as a democratic power with immense demographic, economic, and technological potential, stating that it is going to be on the front row of the world’s transformation, in a video message reminiscing the Republic Day celebrations where the French President was the chief guest.
“We have got everything to say to a country like India, a democratic power, a demographic, economic, and a technological one as well, which is gonna be front row at the world’s transformation,” President Macron said. He also shared a glimpse of his visit, posting the video with the caption “A look back at an exceptional trip in India” and mentioned his fondness for having chai tea.
Highlighting the strong relationship between France and India, Macron acknowledged the existing cooperations and partnerships between the two countries and expressed the desire for further investments. He also mentioned about the “goal of having 30,000 Indian students in France by 2030.”
During his visit, Macron was the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations and was warmly welcomed by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. French contingents marched alongside Indian forces during the parade, symbolizing the longstanding friendship between the two nations. Macron reaffirmed the bond between France and India, saying, “Long live the friendship between France and India.”
The visit also saw the adoption of a roadmap for the defense-industrial partnership, strengthening the strategic partnership between India and France. Both leaders reiterated their vision for the partnership to enhance economic prosperity, strengthen security, and promote sustainability for a healthier future.
