Amitabh Bachchan is getting a lot of accolades for his performance in ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ which sees him essay the role of Ashwatthama. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is like a futuristic take on Mahabharata and also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone. Bachchan got a lot of praise as fans were in awe of seeing him do action at the age of 82.
Infact, after seeing ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, the internet feels that the makers of Brahmastra did not give respect to Big B or did not do justice to him.Meanwhile, Bachchan has not dropped a note of gratitude for all the love he is getting. The legendary actor took to X and said, “5062 – the essence of KALKI resounds within and without .. and my gracious gratitude.”

As soon as he shared the post, fans reacted. One of the fans wrote, “No one like you sir…one and only piece..” Another wrote, “No body could have portrayed ashwathama better than you.”
The film revolves around Sumathi (played by Deepika), who is pregnant. She is said to be carrying a child who is the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu which is called Kalki avatar. Ashwatthama has this task to protect the unborn child from a ruthless villain played by Kamal Haasan. Prabhas also plays a negative character in the film who fights against Bachchan.
Earlier, the producer Ashwini Dutt, had said, “Prabhas told me that Amitabh Bachchan is the first hero of Kalki 2898 AD. We should respect him, and that’s when we will be respected. He also mentioned that his dream came true when Kamal Haasan joined the project.”
