AHMEDABAD: A 30-year-old migrant worker from Chhattisgarh’s Balrampur was lynched at Sundha-Vansol village in Kheda, Gujarat, on Monday.
According to police , Ramkeshwar Kherwar had come to work on the high-speed rail project in Ahmedabad.
Police have nabbed four men in the case. This is the second time in two days that mobs have lynched a labourer near the city, assuming them to be thieves.
According to the FIR filed by Singh, Kherwar reached the village around 12.30 am on Monday after which he was tied up and beaten.
According to police sources, he was unable to communicate with the villagers as he could not understand or speak Gujarati. A villager informed the police control room.
Cops took Karwar to Mahemdavad Civil Hospital, from where he was shifted to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, but succumbed. The FIR stated that Kherwar had injuries all over the body and a deep wound on the head. His skin had almost peeled off from the assault.
