For anyone who grew up in 2000s, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, starring Genelia D’souza and Imran Khan in lead roles, remains one of the most classic love stories. The 2008 movie, a tale of two best friends falling in love, struck a chord with the audience, who could not get enough of Jai and Aditi.

As the movie completed 15 years today, Genelia D’souza looked back at the film and recalled some fond memories.

In an interview, Genelia said that while everyone sets out to make a relatable film, but some connections go personal. Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na was a story of a lot of people and youngsters who have lived it or felt it.
Genelia further added that though the movie looked like a cakewalk, it was, at the end of the day, an Aamir Khan production and she had to give three screen tests for the same. She further added that not only that, there was a month of reading workshops before they actually started shooting the movie.
The actor then went on to say that during the auditions, Imran admitted that he liked some other girls for the role of Aditi, but eventually was glad when finally, Genelia stepped into her shoes.
Genelia, now married to actor Riteish Deshmukh and mother to two boys says that 15 years back, she used to relate to her character Aditi -she was a firebrand, outspoken and brash. However, now that she is older, she prefers to think before speaking.
