Defending champions Argentina wrap up their Group J campaign against World Cup debutants Jordan, with Lionel Scaloni’s side aiming to maintain their perfect record before the knockout stage.
The match will be played at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 AM IST on Sunday, June 28.
Argentina have already sealed top spot in Group J after comfortable victories over Algeria (3-0) and Austria (2-0). Lionel Messi has been the standout performer, scoring all five of Argentina’s goals in the tournament so far, including a hat-trick in the opener before adding a brace against Austria.
With qualification already secured, Scaloni is expected to rotate his squad and rest several key players ahead of the round of 32, where Argentina will face Group H runners-up Cape Verde.
Jordan, meanwhile, are playing for pride after being eliminated following defeats to Austria and Algeria. Despite failing to pick up a point in their maiden World Cup campaign, Al-Nashama have shown plenty of attacking intent by scoring in both group matches and will be eager to finish their historic debut with a memorable result against the reigning champions.
