Himachal: Father dies, son injured as car crashes into rock in Hamirpur

Hamirpur (HP), Apr 22 (PTI) A 55-year-old man died, and his teenage son was injured after their car crashed into a roadside rock here on Wednesday, police said.
The accident occurred in the Bhira area when the vehicle veered off the road and hit a rock, they said.
The deceased was identified as Prem Chand, a resident of Bada Gaon in Bilaspur district, while his son, Dixit (17), sustained injuries in the accident, they added.
According to the police, Chand was travelling to the Hamirpur Medical College and Hospital with his son for treatment when he lost control of the vehicle near Bhira.
Both occupants were injured in the crash, following which locals alerted the police. The injured was taken to the medical college here, where doctors declared Prem Chand dead.
Dixit is currently undergoing treatment, the police said, adding that the vehicle was severely damaged in the accident.
