Actor Prakash Raj was one of the first celebrities who came out in support of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). He not only voiced his opinion and visited Jantar Mantar but also took part in the CJP’s Chalo Sansad march in New Delhi. Now, the actor has shared a video montage of the protests that took place on July 20 and attached a note with it.

Taking to his X account, Prakash Raj shared, “Youth of my country are fighting for their future. A movement like the freedom struggle is brewing again. I will continue to empower this churning. I will continue to hold their hands, give them my strength, and stand by them for their future.”

Earlier, Prakash Raj had spoken about the Bollywood stars’ silence on the matter and said, “People who speak, the world is watching… who will stand by the people. Simple.” When asked whether he was happy with the response from the industry, he said, “It is not the question of being happy. Now you know who is what. Such movements show who has got the integrity, who will stand for the people. Who am I to say? I can talk to myself. People have great voices, great actors… I wish they used it for this. They have not, people will judge! When history will be written tomorrow, they may forgive those who might have made the mistake, but they will never forgive those who were silent.”

What happened in Delhi on July 20?

Chaos erupted at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar after the Cockroach Janta Party began its ‘Chalo Sansad’ protest march on Monday amid heavy security deployment. The march, led by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, came despite the Delhi Police denying permission for the demonstration and imposing extensive security arrangements around Parliament.

Celebs extend support to CJP

Shabana’s presence at the protest came days after she publicly supported climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the Cockroach Janta Party-led movement and began an indefinite hunger strike on June 28.

Besides Shabana Azmi, celebrities like Prakash Raj and Poonam Pandey were also seen at the Jantar Mantar protest. Previously, Soni Razdan, Zeenat Aman, Abhay Deol, Sonakshi Sinha, Omi Vaidya, Imran Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, and Ratna Pathak Shah took to social media to extend their support to Sonam Wangchuk and the protesters’ hunger strike.
