US-Iran War Live: Iran Says Strait Of Hormuz Closed For All Ships Until Further Notice
US-Iran War Live Updates: Iran launched fresh missile and drone attacks across the Gulf on Sunday, targeting US military facilities in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, while Qatar and the United Arab Emirates also reported incoming attacks as the conflict rapidly widened across the region.
Tehran claimed that explosive drones struck a Patriot air defence system, an ammunition depot and a US radar site in Kuwait, while another wave targeted American communications and radar facilities in Bahrain. The IRGC also claimed to have fired several ballistic missiles at US military facilities at Jordan’s Prince Hassan Air Base.
In Qatar, the armed forces said they had intercepted a missile attack targeting the country, while Bahrain activated air raid sirens and urged residents to seek shelter. The UAE said its air defence systems were engaging incoming Iranian missiles and drones, with explosions heard as interceptions took place.
The latest Iranian retaliation came after the United States launched a fresh wave of strikes on Iran following an attack on a Cyprus-flagged container ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
Explosions were reported across southern Iran, including Bushehr, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar and Jask, as Tehran declared the strategic waterway closed “until further notice”. The crew of the damaged container ship later abandoned the vessel, while one civilian crew member remained missing.
