US-Iran War Live Updates: US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Tuesday said that Washington could reach a deal with Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz “today or tomorrow”. Speaking to CNBC, Bessent said “there is a chance we may have a deal” in the coming hours.

The development comes as CNN-News18 reported, citing a top diplomatic source in Oman, that mediators have finalised a draft agreement to reopen the strategic waterway and that indirect US-Iran talks have entered the “final stage”.

The diplomatic push also follows a Reuters report that the US Army has depleted much of its stockpile of long-range precision missiles, including ATACMS and Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM), during its five-month conflict with Iran, raising concerns over military readiness.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high in the region. An Indian-flagged cargo vessel sank in the Red Sea after being struck by an explosives-laden boat off Yemen’s western coast. All 14 crew members, including 13 Indians and one Yemeni, were rescued in a joint operation by Yemen’s Navy and Coast Guard. India strongly condemned the attack.
