US-Iran War LIVE Updates: US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States and Iran had signed an agreement aimed at reducing regional tensions and advancing a broader diplomatic process.

The agreement was signed during a dinner hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles. Speaking to reporters afterwards, Trump confirmed the development, saying, “It’s signed.” Photographs published by Iranian state media also showed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian signing the document.

Under the terms of the agreement, the United States will issue waivers allowing Iran to resume oil exports. The deal also lays out measures for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route for global energy supplies.

The text states that Iran will not pursue the procurement or development of nuclear weapons. It also envisages the creation of a 300 billion dollar reconstruction fund for Iran, to be jointly supported by the United States and its regional partners. The fund is expected to be rolled out in the next phase of negotiations.

The agreement further calls for an end to hostilities across the region, including in Lebanon, where Israeli strikes have continued in recent months.
