Olympics 2024 Day 2 Live Updates: After shooter Manu Bhaker made history by clinching India’s first medal of the Paris Olympics 2024, striking bronze in Women’s 10m Air Pistol final, there was hope that the women’s archery team will also enter the medal round. However, they lost to Netherlands in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal also raised India’s medal hopes by qualifying for the Men’s and Women’s 10m Air Rifle finals. Paris Olympics 2024 Live, Swimming: Swimmers exit
Bad news from the pool. India’s swimming campaign at the Paris Olympics came to an end with both Srihari Nataraj and Dhinidhi Desinghu failing to progress to the semifinals of their respective events.
Nataraj finished joint-second in the slower heat with a timing of 55.01s but the 23-year-old was 33rd in the overall standing for the 100m men’s backstroke event. The 16 fastest swimmers from the heats qualify to the semifinals.
The performance was far from Nataraj’s personal best of 53.77s and was considerably slower than his season best time of 54.68s.
