The three-day event, which began with a grand opening night, features screenings of Kapoor’s classics, including Awaara, Shree 420, and Mera Naam Joker, in select theatres across 40 cities. The occasion brought together members of the Kapoor family, including Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Randhir Kapoor, along with other Bollywood stars, to celebrate the legendary filmmaker’s contributions to Indian cinema.
In the now-viral clip, Alia Bhatt is seen interacting with guests at the festival. Holding a blackboard reading “Awaara – Audi 4,” a PVR staff member catches her attention. “Which film is starting?” Alia asks before sweetly announcing, “Awaara… who wants to go watch Awaara? Please go!” Her endearing announcement has charmed fans, with many applauding her enthusiasm for keeping Raj Kapoor’s legacy alive.
