Eden Gardens Staff Worker’s Son Found Hanging in Stadium, Kolkata Police Launches Probe – News18

On receiving information, the police officials rushed to the spot and removed the dead body. The body has been sent for postmortem.

A 21-year-old boy was reportedly found hanging in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens earlier on Monday morning. The body was found in the gallery of K-block of the stadium.

The deceased has been identified as Dhananjay Barik and is believed to be the son of a ground staff worker of the stadium. Dhananjay was a resident of Odisha.

After the matter was reported to cops, a team of Kolkata Police officers rushed to the spot and removed the dead body. The body has been sent for postmortem.

An investigation has been launched into the matter to probe the cause of death and to ascertain whether this is a case of suicide or there is some kind of foul play behind the mishap.

As per the initial findings, it has been revealed that the victim was probably going through some acute mental stress that prompted him to take such a step.
