Fauzi Team Reacts To Rajesh Sharma’s Hospitalisation, Denies Any On-Set Incident: Report
The team of Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauzi has responded to reports linking actor Rajesh Sharma’s recent health scare to the film’s shoot, saying it has no knowledge of any on-set medical incident involving the veteran actor. According to reports, Rajesh Sharma was hospitalised in Kolkata after developing a severe infection that was allegedly triggered by an insect bite sustained while shooting for Fauzi at Hyderabad’s Ramoji Film City. Yesterday, Sudipa Chatterjee shared a health update, stating that he is not yet out of danger, and that doctors are monitoring him for possible complications, including the risk of a blood clot. However, Gulte reports that the team of Fauzi has denied any on-set incident and said that the veteran actor wrapped up shooting his portions a week ago.
Fauzi Makers’ Reaction To Rajesh Sharma’s Health Scare
According to Gulte, the team of Fauzi said they were unaware of any such incident. They stated that Rajesh had wrapped up all his scheduled portions nearly a week before the reports surfaced and had already returned home. They also said no member of the production had received any formal communication about an injury or medical emergency occurring during the shoot.
The team further revealed that they had attempted to contact the actor’s family after the reports emerged but had not received a response.
Meanwhile, conflicting claims also surfaced after one of Rajesh’s assistants allegedly shared a video stating that the actor had been admitted to hospital due to diabetes-related complications and was expected to be discharged soon, contradicting reports that linked his condition to an insect bite.
According to a report by Track Tollywood, Rajesh Sharma’s personal assistant Subhashish Panda has dismissed reports on the Internet about the actor’s health. Panda reportedly clarified that Sharma was hospitalised due to swelling in his leg related to diabetes and that the admission was precautionary.
Panda also reportedly said that the actor is recovering well and is expected to be discharged soon. Addressing reports linking Sharma’s health issue to the shoot of Prabhas’ Fauzi in Hyderabad, he reportedly said that no such incident took place and called the claims baseless.
Sudipa Chatterjee’s Instagram Post About Rajesh Sharma Deleted
Meanwhile, the Instagram post shared by Sudipa Chatterjee, sharing the update about Rajesh Sharma’s health is no longer available, and has seemingly been deleted. In her post, she had written that after wrapping up the shoot at Ramoji Film City, Rajesh was chatting with local technicians in an area surrounded by dense vegetation when he suffered an insect bite.
Assuming it was just an insect bite, he did not pay much attention to it. As per the note shared by Chatterjee, around six hours later, he began experiencing severe pain in his right leg. As he boarded a flight to Kolkata, his health deteriorated and he developed a high fever. Chatterjee revealed in her note, “The following day, Rajesh Sharma was admitted to Manipal Hospital, Dhakuria. More than a day has now passed, and he continues to battle high fever, breathlessness, and a rapidly progressing infection in his right leg. The infection has spread from his toes up to his knee, with large blisters developing over the affected area.”
The note further added, “According to Dr. Avijit Bhattacharya, it is too early to make any definite assessment. Rajesh remains under close observation and is not yet out of danger. Doctors are monitoring him carefully, as there is concern that complications could lead to the formation of a blood clot, which, if it travels to the lungs, could become life-threatening. The hospital team is conducting all necessary investigations and treatment.” This note has now been deleted.
The incident also prompted the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) to seek a high-level investigation, while also calling for accountability and stricter safety measures to protect film workers on shooting sets.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi stars Prabhas in the lead and is backed by Mythri Movie Makers.
