PM Narendra Modi Australia Visit Live Updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the India-Australia CEO’s Forum in Melbourne, which was also attended by his Australian counterpart, Anthony Albanese.
In a post on ‘X’, he wrote: “Addressed the Australia-India CEO Forum in Melbourne this morning. Since 2023, this forum has gained remarkable momentum, reflecting the growing confidence in our economic partnership. I thank PM Anthony Albanese for joining the interaction and sharing his vision for taking our economic ties to even greater heights.”
Prime Minister Modi is also set to hold talks with his Australian counterpart in Melbourne today, July 9, with the discussions focusing on enhancing bilateral ties and strengthening cooperation in trade, defence, education, and people-to-people ties.
The Prime Minister’s visit is expected to accelerate the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership –– the foundational framework governing the bilateral relations between the two countries.
PM Modi Accorded Grand Welcome In Australia
PM Modi arrived in Australia’s Melbourne on Wednesday in the second leg of his three-nation tour and was accorded a grand welcome at the airport.
In a post on ‘X’, the Prime Minister wrote: “Landed in Melbourne, Australia. This visit will add vigour to the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. I look forward to the talks with Prime Minister Albanese. I will also have the opportunity to interact with the Indian diaspora which is an important pillar of our partnership.”
He arrived in Australia after concluding a fruitful visit to Indonesia.
PM Modi was also greeted by the Indian community residing in Melbourne. Sharing pictures showing his interaction with the Indians, the Prime Minister penned a heartfelt post, saying: “The weather in Melbourne may be cold but the warmth of the welcome from the Indian community was truly unforgettable.”
“Their affection and unwavering bond with India continue to be a source of immense joy and pride”, he added.
